Where do I start?
You want to update space in your home, most likely starting with your living area or bedroom. Where do you start, especially when time is scarce and choices are limitless? While you’re at the grocery store, pick up a design magazine. Any publication will work such as Architectural Digest, Better Homes and Garden, or Veranda.
Thumb through one or all these periodicals and see what catches your eye. Ask yourself questions such as, do I like a lot of color in a space or am I inclined towards a monochromatic pallet and clean lines. Do you prefer a specific style like mid-century or a more eclectic style? Most importantly, look around the space you want to reimagine and decide what you want to keep or discard.
Start a folder or notebook beginning first with a list of furniture and furnishings you are going to keep or get rid of. Tear out images from magazines that define your style. This will save you time and money in the future when you make your final decisions and are ready to hit that order button.
Be confident with your choices.
